Cement has a wide usage in the construction industry, but is not limited to the trade. More and more individuals are putting in shed bases or pathways themselves, but are you aware that it presents a hazard to health?
Fresh cementitious material can cause serious burns to the skin and eyes as well as skin disease and dermatitis. Do not swallow. Keep out of reach of children. Immediately wash off any fresh cementitious material from skin and thoroughly wash out of any affected eye.
If swallowed do not induce vomiting but seek immediate medical advice.
Wear protective clothing (goggles, gloves, impervious boots, trousers and long sleeved clothing) immediately remove any clothing or other items saturated with cementitious material and wash thoroughly before reuse.
Seek medical attention if symptoms persist or in case of doubt.
It is your responsibility to make sure everyone handling or coming into contact with fresh cementitious material is away of the importance of the above information.
Inhalation of the cement dust can in turn cause problems with breathing and irritation to the nose and throat, masks should be worn to prevent risk.
Manual handling, working with cement in itself can pose risks of sprains and strains to the back, wrists, arms and shoulders. Necessary precautions should be taken.
Further information on the risks can be found on the HSE website, Construction Information Sheet No 26.
Our coverage area is extensive and covers much of Surrey, Sussex, Kent and London – but please contact our office if unsure.
We can supply various mixes of concrete from our volumetric concrete mixer vehicles at any one time, we arrive on site and position the vehicle as close to the location of the pour and create the mix/type of concrete you require there and then.
Most architects will advise which mix/type they require for the build or development in question, but if in doubt we can advise you based on the application.
Concrete is measured in cubic metres. Our calculator will help you work out exactly how much you need. If in doubt give our office a call and they will help you work it out.
Whilst our volumetric concrete mixer vehicles can deliver the smallest amount to a full load, there is unfortunately a minimum charge of £225.00 plus VAT, which is equivalent to a small shed base. For more information give our office a call and they will be happy to discuss.
Concrete prices are dependent on the type/mix required, location and sometimes day/time. Please contact our offices for prices as every pour is different and we can discuss your requirements and quote accordingly.
Yes, we can supply screed. However, this is a separate delivery and cannot be combined on the same volumetric concrete mixer vehicle as a concrete delivery.
We try to accommodate every customer and fully appreciate that some pours are restricted to times specific (access, business requirements) therefore, we try to deliver on time, every time to meet the customers’ requirements.
Whilst we can normally meet your needs with short notice, we do ask that you try and give as much notice as possible during busier periods.
Contact the office to advise as soon as you know, as we fully appreciate things change, holes collapse etc. The joy of the volumetric concrete mixer vehicle is that we can respond to your need of small or large quantities, but we always appreciate knowing in advance to ensure the lorry has enough materials on board.
Depending on what you have ordered, i.e. pump and supply or supply only, it varies from roadside access of 50’ to 80’.
If on a driveway, we will need access of at least 8 foot wide.
Please contact the office if you’re unsure of available access.
Please contact our offices to place an order and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Payment can be made by card, bank transfer or cash on delivery.
All our volumetric concrete mixer vehicles are equipped with state of the art computer systems which provide you with a printout of the supply. Showing clearly the mix, start and finish time of supply.
Things don’t always go to plan and this in turn can cause a knock-on effect to ongoing clients. We will, however, contact you to let you know if this is the case.
Due to the nature of the materials there will be an element of mess, however, we do endeavour to clear up any mess made on site prior to leaving.
Normally no, however, if you have ordered a large quantity of concrete and pump we may ask for a water supply via hose.
In most cases no, we do ask that you ensure access is available if you are in a difficult location.
If you have ordered pump and supply, we would recommend letting immediate neighbours know that we will be arriving and what happening, noise etc. We may speak with neighbours ourselves on arrival if we feel there is a need, i.e. blocking drives, restricting access etc. as once the pump is set up we are unable to move until supply is complete.
This is dependent on what you require on site. Normally the price quoted is the price you pay, but if you have requested a change once the volumetric concrete mixer vehicle is on site then these changes will be subject to price changes, i.e. if you have requested fibres in screed, or retarders, water proofer, or a higher mix of concrete once on site; then this will be an additional charge.
There is no charge for the first 30 minutes on site, but is chargeable per hour or part thereof. If you know you will require longer, please telephone the office to discuss.
Our drivers are all professional and competent drivers and will endeavour to prevent any damage occurring whilst on site, however, Taylor’s Concrete Services cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by our vehicles when off the public highway. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is directed on to the site in a safe and proper manner. Our trucks can go 40 tonne and some driveways are not built for that weight, only cars.
In the instance of our vehicle has to deliver on the public highway or because the site cannot be accessed for any reason, we are not responsible for any penalties due or if so, the cost of the penalty will be forwarded to the customer.
